FRIDAY WALK: ARLINGTON-MICHELHAM CIRCULAR 6.5 MILES

This delightful walk takes us through peaceful countryside from Arlington Reservoir to Michelham Priory. It is fairly long (6.5 miles) but mostly flat, with only a few stiles.

There will be a coffee stop midway at The Blue Door café in the Priory, plus an opportunity to enjoy more coffee & snacks at the reservoir café at the end of the walk for anyone who wants to linger.

Dogs are welcome and I walk with a friendly hound called Josie. On lead around the reservoir but off lead for most of the walk.

Please note because of the length of walk and wanting to avoid lunchtime at Michelham, I will be starting earlier than usual. Meet in the Arlington Reservoir carpark at 10am. Please arrive in good time to be booted and ready for a prompt start.

There are various routes to the reservoir and probably the easiest from Eastbourne is to take the A27 to Drusillas roundabout then 3rd exit right to Berwick Rail Station. Follow the road for about 1 mile, and the carpark is on your right c.400m after the level crossing. Satnav BN26 6TF. The car park charge is c.£3 per day, contactless, no cash.

Hopefully the weather will stay fine but, as this area is low-lying, if we get much rain in the week I will change the route. If it's wet on Friday I will cancel the day before.
