What we’re about
This Meetup Group has become a bit of a mashup of events and bringing in all my passions into events in Eastbourne! Mainly:
- Yearly vision board events to be hosting at the end or beginning of year at one of Eastbourne many beautiful locations (in February it was the Grand Hotel)
- Junk journaling, would love to bring this as a once every quarter
- Persian Supper Clubs hosted by my mother (Maman Joon!) at Cafe Joon

An intimate Persian lunch experience at Café Joon
Join us for an afternoon of bold, home-cooked Persian flavours lovingly prepared by our very own Maman. Café Joon’s grandmother and the heart of our love for Persian food. Expect warmth, connection, and the kind of hospitality only an Iranian mehmooni (gathering) can offer.
What to Expect
Persians are known for one thing above all else: hosting. A proper mehmooni isn’t just about the food, it’s about the feeling.This afternoon is a chance to slow down, connect, and share a meal the way it was meant to be shared - family-style, with generous portions and even bigger heart.
You’ll be welcomed with a sparkling pomegranate mocktail before sitting down to a seasonal, story-rich menu of classics made by hand and served with love.
Weather permitting, the event will be hosted at the terrace.
On the Table:
- Zeytoon Parvardeh — marinated olives with pomegranate molasses, walnuts & herbs
- Mirza Ghassemi — smoky aubergine with tomato & garlic
- Noon Panir Sabzi Gerdoo — soft bread, feta, walnuts, and a garden of fresh herbs
- Ghormeh Sabzi + Khoresht-e Aloo — Persia’s most beloved stews
- Saffron-infused Persian rice + Salad Shirazi — bright, fragrant, and full of life
- Maman’s Classic Cream Cake — soft, nostalgic, and sweet to the last bite
- Traditional Persian Tea — to end, as all things should
