Are you interested in becoming an ACA Coastal Kayaking Instructor? This Instructor Certification Workshop (ICW) is designed to develop coastal kayak instructors and certify them at the appropriate level. Instructor criteria can be found at the ACA website:

To be eligible for certification as a Level 1 or 2 Instructor, you must attend the first three days. Level 2 skills involve paddle strokes and rescues performed in protected water near shore with winds up to 10 knots, waves up to one foot, and current up to one knot. There are no pre-requisite to participate in the Level 2 Certification Workshop, however paddling experience and some prior instruction is strongly encouraged.

To be eligible for certification as a Level 3 Instructor, you must attend all five days. In order to enroll in the five day Level 3 Instructor Certification Workshop you must first successfully complete a Level 3: Coastal Kayaking skills assessment or Level 3: Coastal Kayak Trip Leader Assessment.

If you are already an ACA Level 2 Instructor certification and want to upgrade to a Level 3, you must satisfy the pre-requisite but need only attend days three thru five of the Certification Workshop.

Sea kayaks are available for rental for those not bringing their own equipment.
