Wappo Cut Public Boat Landing
Join S.C. Department of Natural Resources and the S.C. Amercan Canoe Association's Stewardship for the July 5th Reef Construction Event.
We will be meeting at Wappoo Cut boat landing at 9:30 AM. Oysters keep our Harbor waters clean. Let's give back as a community and take care of the water we treasure. From DNR:
Once there we will load our barge with pre-made recycled oyster shell bags. After we finish loading you all will kayak down to the build site (right underneath the James Island Connector) on Wappoo cut to the shoreline where we will have parked the barge. We will then begin to unload the barge and construct the reef. Please advise the volunteers to wear close-toed shoes (no flip flops or crocs), and clothes they don’t mind getting a little bit dirty/muddy. We will provide water, Gatorade, first aid, sunscreen, bug spray, gloves and eye protection. We will also have plastic cups for you all to drink out of, but if you could be eco-friendly and bring your own refillable water bottles, that would be greatly appreciated! Please see the link below for directions to the Wappoo Cut boat landing.
