Trekking, searching for reptiles and amphibians, bird watching, setting camera traps in the field and wildlife sign surveying

About the Destination:

Katki waterfall is about 50 ft high and lies around 4 km away from Borra Caves. Katiki Waterfalls originate from the Gosthani River and contains greenery and clear water in its vicinity . The Araku valley in vizag is situated at an altitude of over 1000 meters with undulating hills of deciduous and dry forest patches. Most of the forest area is largely unexplored. Besides Being a bird watchers paradise, the area harbors many species of reptiles and mamals too.

Join us for a unique wildlife experience by exploring the eastern ghats in search for some of the most elusive species in their natural habitat.

Itenerary

22 Jan 2016

5.30 PM Assemble at gachibowli flyover

6.00 PM Leave for Vizag by SVR volvo bus

23 Jan 2016

8 AM - Pick up at Vizag bus stop

9:30 AM – Breakfast/Freshen up at Tyda Resorts

11 AM – Reach Katiki waterfall. Unload your luggage at village home stay. Brief the participants about the program and certain Do's & Don'ts followed by lunch.

2 PM – Forest Trek (grade: easy) to nearby hill led by the facilitators along with a local guide.

6 PM - Back to base village, have some tea.

8 PM - Dinner followed by bonfire (optional) and a brief knowledge sharing session.

24 Jan 2016

6 AM - Trek into the nearby forest (grade: easy). Demonstrate camera trap fixing.

12PM - Back to the base camp for lunch.

2 PM - local sight seeing in Araku (relax at katiki waterfall or go to Borra caves)

3 PM – Leave for Vizag

5.30 PM – Reach Vizag. Visit RK beach, if possible and have dinner by 8PM

8.30 PM – Leave for Hyderabad by SVR volvo
