Mt Victoria Track (Mt Donna Buang) out and back - 17km, 870m elevation - HARD

Details

This is a very steep track so be prepared. We will start at the Yuonga Road carpark along the O'Shannessy Aquaduct Trail, providing an approx. 2km warm up but also a pretty track to follow. We then ascend straight up Mount Victoria Track to the peak at Mount Donna Buang. There can be leeches but depends on recent weather. The path can get muddy and slippery if it has been raining recently. It is important to go at a pace comfortable for you as this will require endurance for the incline and balance and careful footing on the way down.
We will stop at the summit for lunch and to take in the lovely views.
We will then descend back down the same path. Be prepared with the correct gear plus food and water for a big day.

We look forward to seeing you there!

NOTE: The 10 mile toilets on Mount Donna Buang is temporally closed. Alternative toilets are located at the summit, 3km up the road, following Donna Buang Rd.

Please do not RSVP to any Eastern Hiking & Adventure event unless you are fully committed to attending. It is your responsibility to check the date, distance, and difficulty of the walk before RSVPing. Members who frequently withdraw at the last minute, fail to show up, arrive without being on the "going" list, or behave disrespectfully towards leaders or fellow members will be asked to leave the walk and may be removed from the group. All leaders are unpaid volunteers who invest a great deal of their own time to plan and research each walk. Their efforts deserve respect and consideration. Organisers do their best to minimise waitlists where possible, and priority will be given to reliable members who attend regularly and contribute positively to the group experience.
