What we’re about
A bit about Eastern Outer Eastern: At EOE we are about reducing social isolation and improving mental well-being, encouraging a more active social lifestyle and access to support networks to address this. The goal is to build a social community of friends and through that to have a wider engagement with the community.
Some advice on being a member: We discourage the development of exclusive cliques in our group as this works against social inclusion. And we expect members to be considerate of others and treat anyone else as they themselves would expect to be treated.
Advice on attending events: If you RSVP “yes” please make sure you turn up – or if you cancel your RSVP–please do so well before the closing date/time for the event. Understandably unavoidable things can come up now and then but as a result try and cancel your RSVP in good time.
Required Legal Stuff: Meetup General Disclaimer applicable to all members and guests.
1. All members and any guests who participate in events listed in EOE do so at their own risk although we expect all members to exercise common sense to minimize any form of risk to themselves and others.
2. EOE offers no insurance or assurance for any events run under this Meetup Group.
3. Where a member(s) hosts an event and collect payments or deposits on behalf of the third party as an event entry fee, meal payment etc. Then any dispute arising out of dissatisfaction or non-delivery of service or product is a dispute solely with the third party for which such payments have been made. Members shall completely indemnify the Event Host from any blame or demand for compensation as a result of that dispute with the third party.
4. EOE cannot be held accountable for any financial loss, injuries, death or otherwise that may occur as a result of an event listed on EOE. If the Event Host is the owner, employee or servant of a company offering services to an event then any claims arising from the event will be with that company.
5. Members need to satisfy themselves that the event they are attending will be within their physical and health capabilities and to take responsibility for their actions.
All of that legal stuff is to comply with Meetup requirements and so that EOE can protect its members and continue to provide social engagement and friendships.
