Summer is right around the corner, and wildflowers are blooming throughout the park! We'll take a leisurely 1-mile walk along the Sawmill Trail and identify a few of the many species of wildflowers that call the park home. We'll also discuss invasive plant species and how they impact our native wildflowers. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather. Rain will cancel the walk.
We will be meeting at the Sawmill Trailhead off of Old Mill Road.
Directions from Beltzville State Park:
Turn left out of the park’s main entrance. Proceed past the Army Corps of Engineers building & go approximately 1 mile. Look for a Big Creek Grange sign on the left. Turn LEFT onto Grange Road. At the bottom of the hill, turn LEFT onto Old Mill Road. You will pass 3 houses on the left. After the last house, turn LEFT into the Sawmill Trail parking lot. PLEASE NOTE - The entrance to the Sawmill Trail parking lot is unmarked. If you proceed over the small bridge, you went TOO FAR!
Registration is REQUIRED, as group size is limited. Please register each individual attending, separately. Please register through the DCNR Calendar of Events website, NOT on Meetup. You can register by clicking on the following link:
