Hello everyone,

It looks like we'll have some nice clear weather this Sunday, so we'll try something different - let's visit the Copper Kettle at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens.

They Copper Kettle provides coffee roasted by Sleepy Monk Coffee from Cannon Beach, Oregon as well as pastries from Macrina Bakery in Seattle.

We'll grab some coffee, relax a little bit, then go on a leisurely stroll through the gardens together before heading back to the coffee shop in case anyone wants to grab another drink and/or food.

Free parking is available in the Garden parking lot, immediately adjacent to the Visitor Center and the Garden. When parking in the Garden lot, please lock your vehicle and take all valuables with you.

Since this is a smaller venue, we've limited RSVPs to 8 people. For this reason, if you RSVP "Yes" and then find that you are unable to attend, please change your RSVP to "No" so that a spot will be freed up for someone else who would like to attend.

Please also take some time and review the rules/guidelines of the Gardens (dogs are not permitted in the Garden):

General Meetup Guidelines:

  • If you are the first to arrive, please try to get a spot with more seats, so people in the meetup can be clustered together!
  • Seats can be a bit tight in some coffee shops so please keep an eye on the event chat in case we move venues.
  • If a new person arrives, please make them feel welcome. Pause your conversation, introduce yourself, ask for their name. Feel free to continue your conversation, but bring the newcomer into it also!

A Note on Conversation Topics:

This meetup isn't restricted to a particular theme (aside from enjoying coffee), so we can have conversations that go in all sorts of directions. We've touched on video games, favorite hiking trails, cuisine, career growth, music, other meetups, and plenty more.

When it comes to sensitive or politically charged topics, try your best to avoid them. It's understandable that hard topics can come up from time to time in the natural course of conversation, but keep in mind that not everyone wants to engage with those topics over their Sunday morning coffee. If something like this comes up, it's generally better to pivot back to a topic that's more neutral.

Please reach out to me if you have questions about this, and I'll be happy to clarify.

Hope to see you all there! ☕
