The Walk
Having tried a couple of recces in the countryside last week, and found the water on some footpaths to be above welly boot level ๐Ÿ™ˆ I thought we would do something simple and have a tried and trusted walk around some pretty gardens in St Leonards. The section of woods will be muddy but walking boots should be fine if you don't mind washing them after ๐Ÿ˜Š.

This is a circular walk of about 5 miles starting and finishing in Station Approach, which is the road that leads to the north entrance of St Leonards Warrior Square station (ignore the map pin being in the wrong place).
The walk will take us through four public gardens and the Ponswood nature reserve.

This walk is strictly for Members of the 'East Sussex Walking' Meetup group and their guests. If you wish to join this walk and are not currently a paid-up member of this group, you must register a profile on Meetup.com and send an application to join this group and have it accepted, and pay the annual group membership fee of ยฃ5, before attending the event. For further information contact Norman Crouch on 07503 142469

Assemble in St Leonards:
We will assemble in Station Approach (the road leading to the north entrance of the train station) at 10:45. The walk will commence at 11:00 or sooner if all attendees are present.

Travel to the Event and Parking:
With the walk starting at St Leonards station, this is obviously a transport option ๐Ÿ™‚.
If you choose to drive you will find that there is plenty of free parking in the surrounding area that is NOT restricted to 2 hours, as the walk will probably take a little longer than this. Please always check the notices for parking restrictions.
If you need a lift to get to the event, then you may use event 'Comments' to request this, stating your whereabouts. If you are fortunate enough to be offered a lift by another member, then please offer to contribute to their costs. Please do not RSVP to the event until your transport has been confirmed.
If you are coming by public transport, the Stagecoach planner is excellent and even gives you a map of the journey.
