Darwell Reservoir (Mountfield) Circular Walk - 7.5 miles - Bank Holiday Monday
Details
Please note this walk is taking place on Easter Monday.
This is a circular walk of the Darwell reservoir, starting from Mountfield. The walk is in the region of 7.5 miles long. It is not that demanding, with just a few hills, however navigating Darwell woods to the south of the reservoir along a poorly marked track is quite tricky but fun. We will pass some interesting old buildings such as Mountfield Court and Glottenham Manor (both of which can be seen in the attached photos).
Please pay particular attention to the 'Travel and Parking' details below.
We will walk at a medium pace.
We will stop and take a 20 minute break during the walk. There will not be an opportunity to purchase food along the way, so please bring a packed lunch if you wish to eat anything when we take the break and maybe something to sit on.
**This walk is strictly for Members of the 'East Sussex Walking' Meetup group and their guests. If you wish to join this walk and are not currently a paid-up member of this group, you must register a profile on Meetup.com and send an application to join this group and have it accepted, and pay the annual group membership fee of £5, before attending the event. The Chairman of the Village Hall has agreed to us using it on the day, and I have agreed that we will make a donation of £2 per car towards their funds. Please bring some change with you on the day. Please park as close together as possible as the car park is only small. If you decide not to use the car park then please park in Church Road keeping close to the verge and walk back to the hall.

Any queries please contact me on 07503 142469.
🐕 Dogs are welcome on this walk, as long as they are kept on a lead for the full duration of the walk and kept close to your side and not interfering with other walkers, if you clear up after them, and if you are able to keep up with the rest of the group. There are stiles to negotiate and only some of them have dog gates so you will be responsible for getting your dog across them.
Walking boots and strongly recommended for our walks. Walking shoes may be suitable for summer walks when the ground is dry. Where a lot of mud is expected we will usually make you aware of this in which case you may wish to wear wellies. Please bring a light waterproof jacket if rain is forecast.
Please adhere to our Group Rules at all times. These can be found in our group's 'What we're about' section:

Should you need to amend your RSVP, then please do so in a timely manner. Rule 3) of our Group Rules refers.
