### Economic Systems
How do our current economic systems shape the way we live, and how might they evolve to meet the challenges of the 21st century? Should questions about the economy be closely tied to social well-being, sustainability, and fairness? Exploring economic systems means looking not only at growth and productivity but also at values, equity, and the environment.
Some questions we could raise together:
- What is broken in today’s economic system?
Are the core issues inequality, overconsumption, environmental harm, or the structure of global trade? - Do we need new rules and models?
Should we reform capitalism, experiment with post-growth ideas, or explore local alternatives like cooperatives and community economies? - How should a transition be organised?
If we shift toward circular, sustainable, or solidarity-based economies, what would that mean for businesses, workers, and communities in Prague? - What role does society play?
How can citizens, local governments, and communities influence the way resources are distributed and value is created? - What emotions are involved in imagining new systems?
Hope, fear, resistance, excitement — how do these feelings shape the way we think about economic change? - Is growth always necessary?
Can we imagine an economic system that prioritises well-being, equality, and ecological stability over constant expansion?
These are only starting points. We would love to hear your perspectives on
how economic systems should evolve — both globally and here in Prague.

🌱🌳 ━━━ ABOUT US ━━━ 🌿🍃
Earth & Society Dialogues is a group aiming to bring together people with interest in discussing issues related to climate change and the coping of societies in the Anthropocene — the current geological age where humans are the biggest driver of geological and ecological change.
Our events are a healthy discussion forum, open to people from all backgrounds, that aims at providing the time and space for new thoughts to emerge, and ideas to spread.
Each of our meetings has a general theme, however, the discussion is led by the participants themselves. This process starts by the participants suggesting their own topics related to the general theme. After which, people divide into small groups where they get to know each other better and dive deeper into their topics of interest.
You don’t need to be very enthusiastic about sustainability to enjoy this meeting; in fact, many of the participants aren’t. You just need to be open to listen, understand, and communicate with no judgement.
