Sagehen Creek Trail

5.2 miles. 215 elevation gain. Moderate.
We will follow a nicely shaded trail along a lovely stream through the forest out into a meadow ending at Stampede Reservoir. Great for bird watching and other wildlife. The wildflowers were amazing last year!!
We will meet at the trailhead and, as always, bring plenty of water and dress for the conditions of the day.

Getting there:
This hike is about 7 miles north of Truckee on highway 89 toward Sierraville.
At about 6.8 miles the road starts downhill to Sagehen Creek. You’ll see a small bridge and just over the bridge is a small parking lot. (there is a significant drop off from the road so be careful)
