This walk is the southern most stretch of the Great North Walk exploring scenic and historic urban areas around Woolwich and Hunters Hill, and the bush and mangrove wetlands as well as some dry eucalyptus forest alongside the Lane Cove River. Starting at the birth place of modern Sydney we enjoy a ferry ride across the harbour, passing the Opera House and heading under the Harbour Bridge. Once on land at Woolwich we explore the streets and some lovely pockets of remnant bushland of this peninsula before coming to open area near Boronia Park. We then follow the Great North Walk along Lane Cove River through more challenging terrain before finishing the walk at North Ryde Station by 4:30pm.

TRANSPORT OPTION: 12:45pm ferry from Circular Quay Wharf 5 Side B, arriving at Woolwich Wharf at 1:08pm. (Check Opal Trip Planner for updates).

BRING: 2 litres of water, hydralyte tablets, snacks, rain gear, sun protection, first aid kit, hiking shoes.
