Bobbin Head Loop Walk (12km) Medium-Grade 3

This walk combines both sides of the valley to Bobbin Head linking the Gibberagong trail with the Warrimoo track from North Turramurra. Meeting up at the end of Murrua Rd at 9:30am, we follow the Murrua Side Trail before a steep (150M) climb down to the Gibberagong track. We follow the Gibberagong track through the Mangroves Boardwalk to Bobbin Head where we have lunch at the marina. After lunch we follow the Warrimoo track along Cowan creek to the Sphinx trail with a gradual (150M) climb up to the Sphinx War Memorial. We then walk up the road back to the end of Murrua Rd completing the loop walk by 3:00pm.

TRANSPORT OPTION: 8:56am train from Central Station Platform 16, arriving at Turrumurra Station at 9:39am. Then catch Bus 577 Stand D Turrumurra Station at 9:50am, arriving near the end of Murrua Rd North Turrumurra at 10:00am. Walk a minute to the end of Murrua Rd.

BRING: 2 litres of water, hydralyte tablets, snacks, lunch, sun protection, first aid kit, rain gear, hiking shoes.

NOTE: If you are feeling unwell or unfit please stay home! Limit of 30 people only for safety so please only RSVP if 100% committed to attend! There is no excuse for not updating your RSVP in a timely manner for those on the waitlist to be able to attend. Accumulative NO-SHOW`S and members who display disrespectful or inappropriate behaviour will be banned from the group. Members who show up for events inadequately packed with essential supplies will not be allowed to attend the event for their own health and safety. Walks are graded according to the difficulty of the terrain and access to exit points. Bushwalking is a skill. Members are responsible for assessing their own fitness and experience level before attending an event. All members are responsible for exercising duty of care for themselves and others. Be conservative for safety!
