HIKING FROM YINHE CAVE XINDIAN TO MAOKONG, TEA TOUR
Details
This is not the easiest hiking but it’s still easy (level 2). The first route climbs up with natural path (road) after that a lot of stairs to climb. (From yinhedong bus stop to the cave waterfall).
After that continue to cloud pavilion pond near to maokong station then having lunch and we can continue to tea promotion center, suspension bridge, small waterfall and zhinan temple.
However, if you want to go back earlier (around at 2 or 3 pm) you can take GONDOLA cable car from maokong to get back to the city.
The total of the hiking if you follow us for whole trip is around 6-7 hours.
10.00-10.15 : gather in bus stop xindian MRT (only one exit). Then go to GR12 bus station near to 7-11. DONT BE LATE! The bus is on time at 10.15. We have to line up before that.
OPTION 1 : finish the hiking till maokong station
10.15-10.30: get off in yingedong bus station
10.30-11.30: hike to yinhe cave and waterfall
11.30-11.45 : take a rest
11.45-12.45 : hike to maokong
12.45-14.00 : lunch in a good view restaurant near to maokong station
IF YOU ARE TIRED, YOU CAN GO BACK TO THE CITY EARLIER BY TAKING GONDOLA CABLE CAR FROM MAOKONG STATION. IF YOU WANT TO FINISH THE WHOLE TRIP, WELCOME TO CONTINUE.
Option 2 : finish all the hiking route till the end
14.00-14.20: go to tea promotion center
14.20-15.00: TEA TOUR from tea promotion center
15.00-15.15: drinking tea (free)
15.15-16.00: we go to suspension bridge and small waterfall
16.00-17.00: we go to zhinan temple and explore the temple for 15 mins.
17.00-17.30: take gondola cable car from zhinan temple to taipei zoo station (bring your ID if you are taipei ARC or Taipei ID so you can get 50% discount)
17.30: taipei zoo MRT station
FYI : from taipei tea promotion center to zhinan temple, the route is mostly going down and easy one. Only lil bit climb up on the natural path (public road)
What should you bring?
1. Yo-yo card or easy card for money bus and cable car around 100-200 NTD
2. Warm clothes (only in the winter time)
3. Mosquito repellent
4. Water 1,5L
5. snack
6. Your ID card for taipei city ARC to get the discount from cable car
7. Bring your own water bottle for taking tea (free)
