THIS HIKING WAS ORIGINALLY ON SATURDAY 4 April. HOWEVER ON THAT TIME IS RAINING SO I CHANGE TO BE ON SATURDAY 18 APRIL.

IT IS SO RIDICULOUS WE KEEP CHANGING THE DATE OF THIS HIKING BECAUSE OF RAINNING. SATURDAY 18 APRIL WE CANNOT GO BECAUSE BAD WEATHER IN RUIFANG, LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN. WE CHANGE 9 MAY. SATURDAY 25 APRIL WILL BE RAINING TOO AND 2 MAY WE HAVE ANOTHER EVENT, SO 9 MAY.

Warning: this hiking is popular. We start withh easy hike only climbing the stairs. After we arrive to the pavilion and go to the top, the road change becomes sand and rock. Thats hard part to climb.

After we finish with teapot mountainn, we will continue to banping mountain. The first we have to climb high rock with ropes (the heigh is around 500 m).

After that we will climb the challenging part with ropes and climbing rock so steep. If you are afraid with high altitude, you cannot join!

The route for banpingshan is rocky, steep and difficult to walk. The road is narrow. We climb like this around 30 minutes then we walk on the natural path easy.

09.00-09.15 : gathering at MRT Zhongxiao Fuxing exit 2 outside (don’t lookok at the link of the map on meet up)

09.15-09.30 : line up to the bus station
09.30-11.00 : taking bus number 1062 to Quanjitang bus stop

11.00-12.00 : hiking to teapot pavilion on the top (only take a rest 1 time)

12.00-12.30 : lunch on the pavilion

12.30-13.00 : climbing to the top of the rock (challenging part)

13.00-13.30 : hiking to banpingshan

13.30-14.00 : climbing with the rope (we have to wait each other)

14.00-16.00 : continuing hiking on banpingshan

16.00-17.00 : arriving to the visitor center, toilet and taking bus to jiufen old street

18.00-19.00 : dinner jiufen old street

19.30 : back to taipei by bus (if its full, we call uber or taxis to ruifang station then taking train to taipei)

What should you bring?

  1. Gloves
  2. Lunch (important)
  3. Easy card with money
  4. Water 2 L
  5. Snack

Expenses

  1. Bus to teapot mountain 105 NTD x 2 round trip
  2. Dinner (200-400)

We cancel the hike, if it is raining! No matter light or hard rain we will cancel.
