Lion’s head mountain or SHITOUSHAN is not hard hiking for me. We only climbing a lot of stairs then natural path. However, just at make sure that your condition is fit andd you do exercise everyday so it’s easy for you climbingng the stairs.

Honestly, this is not my fave hiking. The peak and tge Mountain View is so so not really beautifuluful but we will visit some ancient trails and beautiful temples.

08.45-09.00 : waiting on taipei main station (make sure that you buy ticket for Tze Chiang Limited Express train number 115 to ZHUNAN) the train will arrive at 09.00.

Go to ticket counter to buy ticket. YOU CANNOT USE EASY CARD!

09.00-10.30 : take train From taipei main station to Zhunan train station

10.30-11.15 : waiting on the bus stop. We will take bus number 5806 to LONGMENKOU

11.20-12.15 : Taking the bus (big bus)

12.15-13.00 : walking to the first and the big temple

We will entrance the trail with stairs then we walk on the road climbing up until reach the temple.

13.00-13.30 : lunch at the big temple (we will havee free mushroom soup from the temple)

13.30-14.30 : hiking to the ancient wall

This route is a lot of stairs and little bit steep to climb up.

14.30-14.45 : take a rest buying snack or drink

14.45-15.15 : hiking to the peak.

This route is easyy only the natural path climbing up but its little bit steep with few ropes.

15.15-15.30 : pictures at the peak

15.30-16.00 : walking to another temple

Toilet time

16.00-16.45 : walking to lion’s head visitor center

WE CANNOT BE LATE, THE LAST BUS TO THE CITY IS AT 5 pm

16.45-17.00 : line up to bus stop

17.00-18.00 : take bus number 5700 (big bus) to Hsincu High speed rail THSR

18.00-19.00 : taking high speed rail (maybe non reserved no seat because weekend is so crowded)

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?

  1. Money for buying ticket and easy card with money for local bus is around 100 NY. (CANNOT USE TPASS)

  2. LUNCH

  3. Water 2L

  4. Mosquitoes repellent

  5. UV protection

EXPENSES

  1. Tze chiang limited express train to Zhunan station 309 NTD

  2. Local bus round trip 100 NTD

  3. THSR Hsinchu to taipei 280 NTD

  4. Dinner together (optional)

We will cancel if it’s raining
