4250 Capitola rd, Capitola

I've been going to Dharmas since I was in college over 40 years ago. It is a vegan restaurant institution for 44 years in Santa Cruz, Capitol actually. The atmosphere is unique and fun with toys, crayons and coloring paper, lots of featured artists work on the walls, a statue of Budha and an inviting patio with lots of pants and umbrellas, the menu is a novelette, large portions, all healthy vegan options for restaurant dining.
But Dharmas has been struggling since the pandemic, if not before and may not be around much longer. If you haven't been there in awhile, or if you never heard of it, now would be a good time to go there and it would help them out as well.

Here's what I found online:

Dharma’s Restaurant took to social media to say it has been struggling financially for years. The restaurant has been serving customers for 44 years.

“We had hoped that we could turn things around quietly, but the math is simple and unforgiving: the cost of ingredients, labor, utilities, and everything it takes to keep a restaurant running has climbed steadily, while business has continued to decrease. We've cut where we can, restructured how we operate, and worked to find every possible efficiency. But the gap remains,” the restaurant wrote in a social media post.
The restaurant said it is having conversations about whether it can stay open, or whether it could potentially be sold to someone else.
They added that nothing has been decided, but they wanted to let the community know they are in a dire situation and no longer wanted to keep hoping everything would simply work out.
Dharma said it is spreading the word in hopes that sharing the news will help spark a community effort to save the restaurant.
