SANTA MONICA: Modern Jewish-Influenced Cuisine at Chef Jeremy Fox's Birdie G's
Details
IMPORTANT NOTE: DUE TO TOO MANY LAST-MINUTE RSVP CANCELLATIONS RECENTLY: ANYONE WHO CANCELS WITH LESS THAN 72-HOUR NOTICE, NO SHOWS, OR ARRIVES MORE THAN 10 MINUTES LATE WILL BE PLACED ON A 2-MONTH PROBATION AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND ANY EVENTS DURING THAT PROBATIONARY PERIOD.
Chef Jeremy Fox (Rustic Canyon, Ubuntu (shuttered)) opened Birdie G's almost a decade ago, serving up traditionally well-known dishes with a Jewish cuisine flair, such as Caesar Salad, Matzo Ball Soup, and Chicken Cutlet. I love Chef Fox's food, but the parking situation at Birdie G's (as well as the noise level at Rustic Canyon) has kept me from hosting there. Now that he's decided to shutter the restaurant by year's end, it's time for a visit.

IMPORTANT EVENT INFO:
• Please arrive early to find parking. We will meet by the entrance for our 5:30 pm reservation.
• The meal here is expected to be around $65 or more, depending on how much food we order, any drinks you may order, tax, and at least 20% gratuity. Please bring at least $100 in cash (small denominations preferred) to pay for your share of the meal. However, if necessary, I can accept payments via Zelle (which, unlike PayPal or Venmo, does not charge a service fee).
• Family-Style Dining: Dining for this event has been designated as Family-Style. The food bill will be split evenly among all attendees. Attendees will be responsible for paying for their beverages. Please note that flexibility is an important part of family-style dining, and if you want to take a chance to attend, you have to be amenable to what the group/AO will order. You don't have to eat everything that is ordered, but everyone pays equally, whether you eat everything or not. If this definition of Family-Style Dining doesn't feel comfortable, this may not be the right type of event for you. In addition, if you have ANY dietary restrictions or ingredients you do not wish to consume, then you may want to skip this event. Ordering dishes modified to fit someone's dietary needs or personal tastes will alter the true flavors of those dishes for the rest of the group.
• PARKING INFO: Valet (usually around $15) or street parking. Be sure to read all signs for any parking restrictions.
