**Mount Merbabu** can be climbed from several routes, but the Selo route on the southern side is the favourite route for hikers. Reaching the campsite area takes around 6 to 8 trekking hours, and it is known for its challenging yet rewarding experience. The hike takes you through beautiful landscapes, including tropical forests, lush green hills, and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. It is recommended that hikers be physically fit and prepared for the climb, as it can be steep and rocky in certain parts of the trail.

### **ITINERARY**

**DAY 1: YOGYAKARTA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT – BASECAMP (L)**
Pick up from the airport, and continue the journey to Basecamp Selo, Boyolali. The journey will take about 2-3 hours. Reach basecamp, rest and dinner. Stay overnight at Basecamp. Free program afterwards.

**DAY 2: BASECAMP – MT. MERBABU (B,L,D)**
06.00-08.00: Getting ready and breakfast
08.00-12.00: Start trekking from Basecamp to Post 1 and to Post 2
12.00-13.00: Lunch at Post 2
13.00-16.00: Post 2 – Post 3 – Sabana 1 – Campsite
16.00-18.00: Rest and free time
18.00-19.00: Dinner
19.00-24.00: Rest

**DAY 3: MT. MERBABU – YOGYAKARTA (B,L,D)**
01.00-02.00: Prepare for summit attack and light breakfast
02.00-06.00: Sabana 1 – Sabana 2 – Trianggulasi Peak at 3145 mdpl
06.00-07.00: Breakfast
07.00-07.05: Kenteng Songo Peak
07.05-07.30: Rest
07.30-11.00: Back to Campsite Sabana 1
11.00-12.00: Lunch and getting ready to return to Basecamp
12.00-16.00: Sabana 1 – Post 3 – Post 2 – Post 1 – Basecamp
16.00-18.00: Rest and dinner. Get ready to return to Yogyakarta
18.00-21.00: On the way to Yogyakarta
21.00: Reach Yogyakarta and check in to the hotel

**DAY 4 (SUN): YOGYAKARTA (B)**
After breakfast, free time. Drop off at the airport, and the program ends.
