Hosted by The Hollywood Craft Mafia Meetup Group
Details
Join the Hollywood Craft Mafia and all our crafty friends for the Fast and Dirty Fabric Printing Workshop. Tina Wright from WorkingGirl will lead the workshop, with lots of help from the rest of the HCM.
Bring a shirt, tote, or other material to print on, and we’ll teach you how to make all this awesome stuff:
Scratch a Print – scratch or sketch an image on these small paper frames, then immediately print moderately detailed, sketch style images. Good for 1-5 prints.
Freezer Paper Stencils – cut out shapes, patterns or detailed designs, iron the paper in place, and print to your heart’s content! Good for 1-5 prints.
Recycled Material Stamps – carve, cut, or glue recycled cork, paper clips, foam, wood blocks, and lots more to build your very own custom stamps. Good for dozens of prints.
Make your own screen with Mod Podge – use ModPodge as the screen filler to make your very own durable printing screen. We’ll provide recycled frames, organza for screen fabric, and mod podge. Good for dozens of prints!
We’ll Have the Following on Hand:
Black fabric printing ink
Acrylic Craft Paints and Fabric medium
Xacto Knives and Scissors
Traditional and Foam brushes
Squeegees (limited supply)
Premade recycled stencils (limited supply)
Premade recycled and/or traditional screens (limited supply)
Important Info:
RSVP today! Space is limited.
Be on time! You’ll want to be there at 1pm sharp for all the important pointers and instructions.
Pearl Art & Craft Supply has a great selection of speedball inks on hand, if you’d like to expand your color palette.
Order custom made stencils $7 each. Maximum size is 8x10. (Lead time is one week, so plan ahead if you want your stencil in time for the workshop. E-mail tina@hollywoodcraftmafia.com for details.)
If you have an Exacto, fabric inks, or other supplies that you might find helpful, feel free to bring them!
Bring scrap fabric, and extra items to print on. Some of these projects are super quick, so you should have lots of time to make multiple projects.
Wear something you can get ink all over, or bring an apron or smock.
