Buy Nothing Day Hike at Marin Headlands (Coastal Trail)

If you want to flee the malls and on-line shopping on the Friday after Thanksgiving, you can join Janet Gawthrop and others for this field trip to look at coastal sage scrub and dramatic landscapes. This is a beginner-level plant walk, but I will bring along the Flora of Marin County in case folks want to try some more advanced keying work. We also stop to gawk at unusual animals and ponder lichens. Bring lunch and water, and hand lenses and binoculars are great if you have them.
