Learn to identify common naturalized and native grasses on a pristine coastal prairie grassland at Point Pinole Regional Shoreline.
Expect to see CA oatgrass, Purple needle grass, Meadow barley, Alkali barley and more.
Easy walk about 2 miles total.
Bring water and snacks, hand lens, pencil and notepad for grass identification.
Meet at ATLAS ROAD Parking Lot of Point Pinole Regional Shoreline. There is no weekday parking fee.
The walk will be led by Denise Defreese, retired Wildland Vegetation Manager East Bay Regional Parks District.
