Albany Hill Plant Walk

Details
Margot C. will lead a walk through Albany Hill City Park which supports a richness of flora, including oak woodland with over 100 other native species.
Margot, Natural Areas Coordinator of the City of Albany, works professionally on habitat restoration within the park, and is volunteering to lead us on a walk through the park in oak woodland, eucalyptus forest, grasslands, and search for native plants in each plant
community.
Directions: Meet at the north end of Madison Street in Albany. Local drivers & cyclists can follow San Pablo Ave to the intersections of either Washington or Clay streets. At either intersection turn west and uphill and turn right onto Madison. Follow Madison to the dead end at the
hill's trailhead. Local street parking is free but scarce.
This trip is limited to 13 participants. RSVP via Meetup to attend.
If your plans change and you will not be able to attend, please update your status as soon as possible so we have time to fill in from the waiting list.
This walk will last 1.5 to 2 hours, with a vertical gain of 340 feet. Some footing is uneven or steep.
