Studio Tour, Art Tour, Tech Tour Bike Rides @ LA Zoo
Hosted by SoCal eBike Riders
Details
We are back at the zoo this month with your choice of fun and challenging rides. These are relaxed pace no-drop tours with multiple stops to regroup. You have a choice of either ride. The basic and extended rides will be led by volunteers from the Los Angeles Wheelmen Cycling Southern California since 1945.
EASY 10 MILE RIDE
We have our classic beginners 10 mile studio tour that goes into Burbank and pass along Warner Bros, Disney, ABC, Disney Animation (the site of the originally planned Disneyland, Disney Imagineering Campus and DreamWorks. There will not be any celebrity sightings and we won’t be able to actually enter the studio lots but be on the lookout for hidden Mickeys and see if you can spot the iconic DrewamWorks logo on their gigantic lot.
This route takes advantage of bike friendly streets and is a good introduction to those who are new to riding in a group and riding on public streets. The 10 mile tour should be completed by 10:00 am or sooner.

30 MILE FOOTHILL RIDE
The second option is a modest but hilly 30 mile tour of Pasadena and La Cañada Flintridge.
The 30 mile route has 2 highlights. First we head to Pasadena and climb up to the hillside campus of the Art Center College of Design. The campus is closed on Sunday but we will loop through the campus and locate their art gallery and auto design exhibits for a future visit. We may even see deer.
Continuing with the climb we circle east for a close look at the JPL campus, where NASA’s robotic missions are designed and tested. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/news/nasas-jet-propulsion-laboratory-has-a-bold-new-look.
