Firecracker 50 Mile(Half Century) Pre Ride & Marshal Training Ride (e-bike OK)

We are preparing for the 2024 Firecracker half century with a training ride starting from Los Angeles State Historic Park in Downtown Los Angeles. It will be a relaxed touring pace averaging 12 mph with an exhilarating downhill decent. There is 2,200 feet of climbing.
We are looking for feedback on the route so we can make improvements before event day. Firecracker Bike Marshals are invited to join us on this qualifying ride.

Requirements:
Helmets are mandatory. Make sure your bike is in good operating condition and bring at least one spare inner tube/sealant. You must be comfortable riding 40+ miles and have completed a ride of comparable distance recently. We will schedule shorter rides in the upcoming weeks.
This is a self supported ride – there is no SAG. In case of a major mechanical and/or physical breakdown, plan on calling an Uber or phone a friend.
Bring sufficient liquids/hydration and snacks/energy bar/gels… etc for the ride length and temperature. There are 3 non-supported rest stops along the route.
Ebike? - OK if it is Class 1 or 3 and you keep a pace consistent with the group. Be mindful of your range. Make sure you have sufficient battery range an/or plan to use a moderate amount of pedal power.
Parking: Free Parking along adjacent side streets - Paid parking inside the State Park. Check signs for time limits for Saturday.
Direct access via Metro Gold Line Chinatown Train Station or just ride to the start location.
Restrooms inside the Los Angeles State Park (Opens at 8:00 am). Other stops are shown on the route map.
