IoT Security – The new and expanding Threat Landscape
Internet of Things – IoT – the latest buzzwords conjour up images of toasters and refrigerators being controlled by iPhones and automatically adding milk to your shopping list when you run low. However, IoT is a big issue in the enterprise. Aside from the traditional user based systems, there are thousands of new devices – purpose-built computers – that are attaching to your enterprise networks. Smart TV’s, Security Cameras, Lighting Systems, Building Management Systems, Amazon Echo’s, card readers, etc… These devices are part of your network fabric, they are highly vulnerable to compromise, and they are being targeted aggressively by the hacker community.
Armis Security is focused on Unmanaged Device / IoT Device Security.
Our solution targets 3 major functional areas:
- DISCOVERY – we use your existing environment to discover all devices in your environment – your Wireless and Wired networks give us access to the data that we need to find and identify everything.
- PROFILING – we identify what the devices are (make, model, OS version, User, etc…) and how they behave in normal operation. We have created a knowledgebase of millions of unique devices with the device and behavior profile. We can compare all devices that we monitor to what we know to be normal and what we know to be indicative of a threat. This lets us perform constant and very accurate threat detection.
- SANCTIONING / ENFORCEMENT – we can put policies in place to control devices, permit approved behavior, and to prohibit non-sanctioned activity.
Our deployment model is simple. NO Agents, NO 802.1x, NO authentication requirements, NO heavy sensors throughout your network.
