Navigating the River of Life—Lessons for Living

Reflect on the ways the Light and Sound of God help us to navigate the complexities of life.

As Soul, we have the creative tools to find answers to the perplexing questions of life we face daily. At this ECK Light and Sound Service, you’ll experience the sacred sound of HU, discover simple techniques to help us deal with change gracefully, and participate in a spiritual discussion.

"Be content and let thy mind go like the river you see before thine eyes, which is always flowing onward, forever to the ocean, and yet is untouched by anything.

“Life is like that river—a continuation, birth upon birth, and death upon death. Only indifference acts as the separating influence. Neither love nor hate, but remain self-contained, living inwardly always for God.

“You, yourself, are your own problem. You must understand and act to solve the mystery of thy little self before you can solve the mystery of God. This is the Law of the Self—the law of God. Therefore, I tell you not to take up the seeking of God until the little self within thee is conquered and solved.”

—Paul Twitchell, Stranger by the River, pp. 63–64
