Grove Park/Proctor Creek Stewardship/Invasive Plant Removal

Details

#### Join Eco-A volunteers and friends of Grove Park to participate in the continued restoration efforts of this special and unique remnant old-growth forest. Sign up on Hands on Atlanta or [EcoAddendum.org](https://www.ecoaddendum.org/event/volunteer-grove-park-proctor-creek-3/).

#### We’ll focus on removing invasive species carefully from this high-value forest. We’ll show how to recognize old growth forest remnants and we’ll end with a short walk to a beautiful section of Proctor Creek or walk thru the high forest near the ridgeline.

#### Volunteers have made great progress this year on preventing the spread of Kudzu outbreaks, and we’ve made great progress on removing English Ivy from trees – let’s finish off a few of these sections!

#### We’ll walk approximately 1/2 to – 1 mile on natural trails along with some off-trail locations. Please bring work gloves and long sleeves, long pants, sturdy shoes, and are recommended as we will be working in off-trail areas.

#### Due to Covid-19 precautions, we are not currently re-using gloves, so please bring your own gloves, or we can provide a brand new, unused pair for $5 that you can take home with you (and use next time).

#### We’ll supply tools such as clippers, loppers, small saws, and digging tools.

#### Bring your EpiPens (if you're allergic to bees), water, dress for comfort and wear sturdy shoes, mask (optional), work gloves
