Will the New Dietary Guidelines Make Americans Healthy Again?
introduction by Eric Lemons

In his campaign to become the Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert Kennedy Jr. promised to make America healthy again.

The Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) is a 2025 federal initiative and political movement spearheaded by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. under the Trump administration, aiming to address the chronic disease crisis in the United States. MAHA focuses on reducing food additives, improving nutrition by emphasizing real food over processed food, investigating environmental causes of illness, and reforming federal health agencies. This included forming the MAHA Commission by Executive Order 14212 to increase transparency, address conflicts of interest in health research, and update vaccine safety policy.

As part of the MAHA campaign, Robert Kennedy Jr. appointed a new panel of experts to create the 2025 - 2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

We will be watching some videos of nutrition experts analyzing the new dietary guidelines and the degree that they meet the goal of making America healthy again, followed by a discussion.
