Guided Forest Therapy Walk

Details

This is a free, guided forest therapy/forest bathing 'walk' that will take place this Saturday in Umstead State Park. This session is one of four practice sessions I am required to do to become certified as a forest therapy guide. The session will last between two and three hours. Forest therapy/forest bathing is a practice that offers many mental and physical health benefits.

Logistics
We will be in Umstead park at its Harrison Ave entrance. The park opens at 8 AM. We will get started at 8:15 AM.

Meet near the restrooms on the left-hand side of the parking lot.

For the 'walk', we will be wandering through the woods, with a mix of active moving around and sitting. We will be staying close to the parking lot. This event should be accessible for folks with limited mobility who are able to navigate uneven terrain.

It will be in the mid 80's, so dress to be cool. In the event of rain or excessive wetness, we will gather in a shelter.

Bring a cup for tea and a chair, towel, or other arrangement for sitting on the ground, as needed.

Space is limited. Please only sign up if you are fully committed to attending. If you cannot attend, please remove yourself from the event as as soon as possible so that others can attend in your place.

No pups and no kids under the age of 15 - 15 and up ok.
