Guided Forest Therapy & Nature Connection Walk
Details
This is a guided forest therapy and nature connection 'walk' that will take place this Saturday in Umstead State Park. The 'walk' will last about two hours. Forest therapy and nature connection is a practice that offers many mental and physical health benefits. If you are looking for something restful and restorative, like to try a different pace from hiking, or just generally consider yourself a friend to trees, this walk is for you. The particular practice I will be guiding you with is based on connection with nature and the many beings of the more-than-human-world, as taught by the Association for Nature and Forest Therapy Guides.

Arrive by 10:45 AM for Parking!
Parking in Umstead on Saturday morning is notoriously busy, especially on nice days. Please arrive by between 10:30 and 10:45 to allow time to find a space. Otherwise, you will have to park outside the park and walk in.
Logistics
We will be in Umstead park at its Harrison Ave entrance.
We will meet at the start of the restrooms on the left-hand side of the parking lot from where you first drive in.
For the 'walk', we will be wandering through the woods, with a mix of active moving around and sitting. We will be staying close to the parking lot. This event should be accessible for folks with limited mobility who are still able to navigate uneven terrain.
It will be in the mid 70's, so dress accordingly. In the event of rain or excessive wetness, we will gather in a shelter.
Bring a cup for tea and a chair, towel, or other arrangement for sitting on the ground, as needed.
Space is limited. Please only sign up if you are fully committed to attending. If you cannot attend, please remove yourself from the event as as soon as possible so that others can attend in your place. I will be tracking attendance for this event.
No pups and no kids under the age of 15 - ages 15 and up ok.
