The forests around us are beginning their annual transition from the vibrant life of summer to their restful times of winter. Over this series, we will simply watch and enjoy them in their journey. If you are looking for something restful and restorative, like to try a different pace from hiking, or just generally consider yourself a friend to trees, this walk is for you.

This is a series, but there is no need to join us every week. There's no commitment. Just the offer that this is here on the Saturdays you want to come enjoy it.

What?
I'll be guiding us on weekly forest therapy and nature connection 'walks'. Each 'walk' will consist of a series of invitations designed to help us quiet down and slow down so that we can connect more with the forest around us and its many beings. We will be in Umstead forest, visiting the same spot each week so that we can connect better with the forest in its journey. The 'walks' will involve a mix of sitting, standing and wandering. We will only cover about a half-mile to a mile in distance.

Forest Therapy?
Forest therapy practices like this one often provide a lot of benefit to folks in times of stress and grief, but are also enjoyable and restorative in times of joy, as well. Executive decision makers often enjoy forest therapy as it gives us time to be free of responsibility for a couple of hours.

Nature connection is a key component of the particular forest therapy practice I guide. Avid hikers and outdoors people will find this experience refreshing.
