What we’re about
We inspire initial thinking and discussions with direct attention to those called Ecopreneurs.
The starting point is the consideration that some innovators and companies make a real contribution to sustainable development and implement an important goal within their market that solve environmental problems. DO you have that goal or wish? Then this Group may help.
One of these new horizon business opportunities in new urbanism is urban farming. A combination of local initiatives, new markets, and local nutritious food whilst solving the dilemma of food miles and unnecessary packaging. There are new trends that demonstrate Urban farming is now attracting the young and old entrepreneurs and is becoming a respected lucrative career option, unlike many years of rural agriculture losing their young to the city attractions. Green fingers are the new norm!
A German economist, Johann Heinrich von Thünen, may have opened up the theory of urban agriculture in the new age of urbanism, back in the 1840s The bigger city versus the bigger farm where both compete for waste and logistics. It's not surprising that "seed to plate in under 25km" offers the small urban Ecopreneur a new opportunity. At the same period of Thünen's theory of Agricultural Zones, Europe suffered its worst series of famine disasters. Today, far too many global cities suffer from a lack of sustainable nutritional food and much contaminated industrial abandonment.
This meetup group will follow the roadmap experiences of a few new Ecopreneurs, urban farmers and all those acquainted to the hill and valleys of economic and social sustainability in contributing to environmental resolutions. And, along the way, investigate and inform about natural remedies and nutrition, for your wellbeing.
I am pleased for you to join this group, get involved in discussions, from wherever you are and we hope to have a Meetup near you.
