The benefits of dancing in the day are immense. If you’re unfamiliar or a bit hesitant, but want to give it a go, you’ll quickly find that any future hesitation to be inspired to move freely has disintegrated. A unique liberation has occurred.
The level of sound will be just right and hopefully won’t force you to stick things in your ears! With requests, I may turn it up and vis a versa.
Complimentary Earplugs available!

By the way, A2 Yoga has the BEST SOUND AND BEST FLOOR TO DANCE On. See/feel/hear for yourself.
If you’d like, you may store your belongings along the walls on the dance floor.
Please arrive on time! However, if life has you running late, we’ll see you when we see you. (Cost is the same)

The Warm up is a sweet 30 minute version of a music ARC to get you ready for the full 60 minute Elemental ARC.

Our opening circle is a time to introduce ourselves, establish space parameters, guidelines, etc, and to “say it so to make it happen” dedications.
**Very important** This is a safe, consent based space to dance. Many people enjoy dancing by themselves, or dancing across the room with others. There will be a discussion regarding safe approaches to address the non-verbal cue to dancing with another.
Please, no conversation on the dance floor. Please exit to the lobby for conversation if necessary.
Vocalizations are welcome. Percussion on instruments is welcome with an awareness of supporting the music and dancers a priority. Please treat the instruments with care and respect.
Elemental Ecstatic Dance is hosted by DJru and supported by dear friends in the community.

The music is selected for its connection to Elemental Dancing.

Choice of music is from the world over. Mostly music made for dancing in most all genres. However, contemporary, and electronic dance music definitely has its place here.
Everyone and every-all are welcome here. A maximum of 2 Children 11 and under are free of charge, but must be supervised by an adult. 3+ children for two adults must be discussed with hosts and approved.
This is a welcoming and warm space for everyone!

Come and dance, free your mind, and please leave your negative judge in our lobby and offer tea. Healthy discernment is encouraged.
Respect of self and others is essential and a must at our events.

Please refrain from wearing oils, scented cream, cologne, strong detergents etc…Natural deodorant is encouraged. Some of us are extremely sensitive to strong scents and or over-reaching body odor.

GET UP TO GET DOWN!...LET IT IN TO LET IT OUT!
Dance....Because!

******Updated Child parameters*****
Elemental Ecstatic Dance is a family friendly environment, however, there are safety parameters as well as ‘class’ appropriate behavior expectations when including children.
If you would like to bring your child/toddler to dance, we highly suggest attending at least one Sunday session without your child to understand the flow and see if it would be an appropriate match with your toddler. You may consider this to be a great opportunity to relieve the stress of parenting. As parents ourselves, we know how important it is to take time for self-care.
If you would like to take the chance and attend an Elemental Ecstatic Dance with your child before testing the water, we welcome you. We will explain these parameters to you again just in case there may be questions or concerns.
There are quiet/soft music times as well as brief opening and closing circles. These are times when vocalizations, if any, are minimal and the quiet music moments can be compared to a Yoga Class Shivasana. In other words a time for peace, quiet and introspection.
We like to consider our space physically safe, but a child running freely might create potential hazards to the child or adult participants. Thus, we ask that parents maintain a connection to their child and parent appropriately if such occasions arise.
There are percussion instruments available. We ask that these instruments be treated with kindness and consideration. Tossing them or hitting them too hard can damage them. We expect parents to connect with the child if they are exploring percussion.
Our space is for movement and dance and we acknowledge that children, with appropriate guidance can learn the parameters that are set in place and witness, perhaps participating in an ancient human activity; people dancing together.
Thank you for understanding our parameters and we are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
