PLUS
A2 Yoga has SURROUND SOUND AND A BAMBOO FLOOR!
Arriving on time and joining the opening circle is important but as stated above, we have an open door policy.
Our opening circle is a time to introduce ourselves, establish space parameters, guidelines, etc.
**Very important** This is a consent based space to dance. Many people enjoy dancing by themselves, or dancing across the room with others. To dance with another or others, clear approaches to address partner dancing are shared.
**Important**
We support a scent free experience. Please refrain from strong detergent smells, scented oils, perfumes,
but please be aware of body odor and wear deodorant.
**Important**
Please, no conversation on the dance floor. Please exit to the lobby for conversation if necessary.
******Updated Child parameters*****
Elemental Ecstatic Dance is a family friendly environment, however, there are safety parameters as well as ‘class’ appropriate behavior expectations when including children.
If you would like to bring your child/toddler to dance, we highly suggest attending at least one Sunday session without your child to understand the flow and see if it would be an appropriate match with your toddler.
You may consider this to be a great opportunity to relieve the stress of parenting. As parents ourselves, we know how important it is to take time for self-care.
If you would like to take the chance and attend an Elemental Ecstatic Dance with your child before testing the water, we welcome you. We will explain these parameters to you again just in case there may be questions or concerns.
There are quiet/soft music times as well as brief opening and closing circles. These are times when vocalizations, if any, are minimal and the quiet music moments can be compared to a Yoga Class Shivasana.
In other words a time for peace, quiet, rest and introspection.
We like to consider our space physically safe, but a child running freely might create potential hazards to the child or adult participants. Thus, we ask that parents maintain a connection to their child and parent appropriately if such occasions arise.
There are percussion instruments available. We ask that these instruments be treated with kindness and consideration. Tossing them or hitting them too hard can damage them. We expect parents to connect with the child if they are exploring percussion.
Our space is for movement and dance and we acknowledge that children, with appropriate guidance can learn the parameters that are set in place and witness, perhaps participating in an ancient human activity; people dancing together.
Thank you for understanding our parameters and we are happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
See you on the stompin' grounds.
