Come dance with me at beautiful Manito Park for a low-key, heart-opening, and joyful outdoor ecstatic dance led by Markus Aurelius.
Markus Aurelius was one of the organizers and facilitators of Ecstatic Dance Spokane for years and is bringing back one of his crowd-favorite sets for a free community dance in the park. The music journey will be inspired by a modified 5Rhythms-style wave, beginning grounded and spacious, building into a powerful first peak through fast paced, high energy and powerful beats, giving people that ecstatic experience they are looking to have. We will then cool down, then rising again into a second peak through Lyrical, uplifting, fun, and fast beats, hiving way to bliss and joy that so many ecstatic dancers crave before settling into Stillness.
Expect music with mantra, kirtan, South Asian and Middle Eastern influences, tribal beats, organica, electronica, deep rhythm, and soulful movement.
This dance will include optional movement cues and invitations for group connection, healing, and playful expression. You are welcome to follow along, move solo, dance with others, sit and listen, bring your kids, or simply enjoy the energy of the space.
I'm gonna close with a guided meditation to help everyone land, breathe, and integrate the experience.
When: Saturday, June 20th, 2-ish PM to 4ish PM
Where: Manito Park, on the hill just south of the main gazebo
Cost: Free, I'm going to be there either way to dance. Come dance with me if you'd like.
Weather: Weather permitting
Bring water, comfortable clothes, sunscreen, and anything you need to feel good dancing outside. This is a welcoming, family-friendly, substance-free dance open to everyone.
Swing by, have fun, and come dance with me.
Markus Aurelius
