Ecstatic Dance at Manito Park with Markus Aurelius
Details
Free • Outdoor • Kid-Friendly • Weather Permitting
Come dance with me at beautiful Manito Park for a low-key, joyful outdoor ecstatic dance with Markus Aurelius.
I’ll be playing one of my usual dance journeys — starting grounded and spacious, then gradually building into faster, heavier, more powerful music and a big first peak. From there we’ll come back down and turn inward for a bit before building again into a more playful, lyrical, uplifting second wave, eventually settling into Stillness.
Expect a mix of drums, tribal, trance, electronica, organica, kirtan, symphonic sounds, South Asian and Middle Eastern influences, and whatever else fits the journey.
I’ll occasionally throw out some optional movement cues or invitations to connect with other people, but nothing is required. Dance by yourself, dance with other people, sit in the grass, bring your kids, close your eyes, be weird, take a break — whatever feels good.
I’ll close things out with a short guided meditation so we can land and breathe for a few minutes together.
When: Saturday, October 3rd. Music will start sometime around 12:10ish to 12:30 PM and go for about an hour and a half, followed by a closing circle for anyone who wants to stick around.
There’s no brick-and-mortar schedule to worry about, so we’re keeping this one pretty loose and going with the flow.
Where: Manito Park, on the hill just south of the main gazebo https://maps.app.goo.gl/XudifToYr47igGmp6?g_st=ac
Cost: Free. I’m going to be there dancing either way, so come dance with me if you’d like.
Weather: Weather permitting
Bring water, comfortable clothes, sunscreen, a blanket if you want one, and whatever else helps you enjoy being outside.
Family-friendly, substance-free, and open to everyone.
Swing by, have fun, and come dance with me.
