About us

Welcome to Edge AI & TinyML Bengaluru!

What's the group's goal?
Our goal is to bridge the gap between AI and physical hardware. We are here to help developers move beyond toy Arduino demos and learn how to deploy production-grade machine learning models directly onto resource-constrained silicon. We focus heavily on real-world edge architecture, working closely with microcontrollers like the ESP32-S3 and ARM Cortex-M series to squeeze neural networks into kilobytes of RAM.

Who do you want to meet?
This group is built for:

  • Software developers and Data Scientists who want to understand hardware constraints and bring their AI models to the physical edge.
  • Firmware and Embedded Engineers looking to add Edge AI and TinyML to their existing technical toolkit.
  • CS/ECE students and hardware builders who want to build deployable, hardware-backed portfolios.

What will you do at your events?
Expect highly technical, hands-on sessions. We don't just do slide decks; we write C/C++ and design RTOS-based concurrent systems. Our events will feature:

  • Live technical architecture teardowns and code walkthroughs.
  • Hands-on hardware flashing and peripheral sprints using ESP-IDF and FreeRTOS.
  • Deploying TensorFlow Lite for Microcontrollers (TFLite Micro) for real-time audio keyword spotting and on-chip vision processing.
  • Building Edge-to-Cloud pipelines, securing telemetry via TLS/MQTT to AWS IoT Core.

Bring your laptop, grab a dev board, and let's write code that runs close to the metal.

    ## ๐Ÿš€ What You'll Build & Take Home

Spend two days building 16+ real-world embedded projects. Source code is provided on GitHub โ€” yours to extend after the workshop. Key projects include:

    1. Blink & GPIO Control: Your first ESP-IDF project, from scratch.
    2. Sensor Data Logger: Read temperature, humidity, and accelerometer data via I2C/SPI.
    3. Multi-Task System: Build a concurrent system with FreeRTOS tasks, queues, and semaphores.
    4. Keyword Spotter: Real-time audio keyword detection with TFLite Micro (under 50ms latency).
    5. Person Detector: Live camera frames processed by MobileNet on-chip.
    6. Cloud IoT Dashboard: Publish inference results over TLS-secured MQTT to AWS IoT Core.
