Evening Hike in Forest Park
Details
Please join me for an evening hike in Forest Park.
Where: Springville Road Trailhead. We will meet at the trailhead's gate.
Miles: ~3 miles
Elevation gain: 322 ft
Pace: 2-2.5 mph Moderate
How long: ~1.5 hours
Dogs: Dogs will be allowed
Age: adults-only hike (18 years old and up).
Parking could be an issue. Try to arrive a little early. If you cannot find a spot in the lot (follow the road to the gate) or parking along Springville Rd, there is parking off of Skyline if you leave Springville and take a right on Skyline. Do get familiar with the location with Google Maps in case there is an issue while driving.
This will be a moderately paced hike (2-2.5 mph) and hikers will enjoy a workout in one of the county's rare Urban Forests. Dogs will be allowed on this trek. The park is home to barred owls, coyotes, elk, and deer. Forest Park is a green and wooded oasis located in NW Portland. This trailhead is located off Skyline Blvd and NW Springville Rd. Barred owls have been spotted on our past hikes and we will stop, look and listen for wildlife. My hikes are smoke and drug-free.
Hiking poles are recommended. We will meet at the trailhead's gate.
Note: Mosquito repellent may come in handy after a rainy day.
If you have a spot on this hike and your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you know! THX. For more information:
