McNeil Point (hopefully to Ho Rock) - Mt. Hood

With the late warm weather, Mt Hood has been losing its snow coat. So, let's see what McNeil Point has to offer. Recent reviews say it is accessible. We will do some parts of it on snow, crossing minor streams, so hiking poles, waterproof shoes and micro spikes are highly recommended. Knowing the conditions from the past, this may not be a beginner friendly hike.

Starting point: Top Spur TH (NW Forest Pass is required)
Distance: 9-10 miles
Elevation gain: 2700 feet (unless we get stopped by the snow)
Difficulty: Challenging

Hiking style: moderate and enjoyable, but with a STEADY pace (2-2.5mph). You must be in a good hiking condition (distance + elevation). It is the Endorphins' motto to never leave a hiker behind due to safety, but you must be able to the best of your ability to keep the stated pace.
We’ll stop for pictures and eat lunch at the first clearing and a snack by the shelter.

Please bring:

• plenty of water
• snacks/lunch
• change of shoes (if we do it right, your shoes will be muddy)
• appropriate hiking shoes/attire
• a spirit of a warrior 🥳
• sunscreen

Donations to drivers $12 (exact -cash- is appreciated). This will cover 120 miles of driving. Drive time will be approximately 1.2 hr from Mall 205 Target.

CARPOOL: Carpool is organized at the specified hour. If you're running late, you may need to drive yourself. Carpool is never an issue, as long as we have enough drivers.😉

MEETING SPOT: Target, Mall 205 9800 SE Washington St Portland, OR Right at the entrance to the parking lot of Target.

HIKE "POST-MORTEM": Yes! I know just the place to stop for a meal/beverage on the way back to wrap up the day if the group chooses so!🍻🍔
