📜 Welcome to the Forest Park All Trails Challenge!
Description📜 EVALUATION HIKE -
For anyone wondering if you have what it takes to join us for the classic ‘Forest Park All Trails Challenge,’ I invite you to come along on this hike to gauge your abilities and see if this is the right fit for you. For those that find the pace a little too difficult but are still interested in completing this challenge, check out the Beginner Friendly Version of the FP ATC!
This hike is also for any returning ATC hikers to come and see if they are still up for the challenge of a new year of Forest Park hikes.
Since we will not technically be hiking in Forest Park except for the brief periods we are on or crossing over the Wildwood Trail, this won’t technically be in Forest Park. Still, I think it’s a really great way to kick off this seasons Forest Park All Trails Challenge.
💪🏽 This is NOT a beginner friendly hike, as we will be keeping a decent pace of an average of 2.7mph (or greater!) throughout, could be slightly faster/slower depending on groups’ abilities. I try to go as fast as the slowest person will allow me. These are not good hikes to learn what your pace is.
This can be difficult for some that have sedentary lifestyles, so please don’t be discouraged if at first you don’t succeed, just try try try again.
🚗🚙 Since this is in town, I will not be carpooling myself, but if you wish to do so please organize that on your own in the Event Chat/Comments section.
For those who want to carpool, just know that you should be prepared to drive or take public transit.
🅿️ The address is given for location purposes only.
There are parking meters in multiple areas of Washington Park. The nearest free parking is near the Hoyt Arboretum on SW Fairview Blvd. It is approx. 0.38mi distance over and down a hill from where we will be meeting though. So I usually park there and give myself 10/15minutes to walk over to the World Forestry Center.
If you do not wish to carpool or drive there is a Max station located under the Zoo that brings you right to where we are meeting through a really amazing underground tunnel.
