DIFFICULTY RATING: Mostly moderate but strenuous on the uphill climbs ESTIMATED TIME: 4 hrs
PARKING: The address given is for location purposes only. It is a residential neighborhood so take extra time to find a spot and walk down to the intersection of NW Hoge Ave. and HWY 30. There is a rather aggressive resident that lives the closest to our meetup spot that does not like people parking on the shoulder in front of their house. You’ve been warned. I don’t park there because I don’t need the drama, not because I believe they have any valid argument. I just park up the street a little and walk down. I will be in the gravel lot (where you can NOT park) when you turn onto NW Hoge Ave. just off of NW Saint Helens Rd.
This is hike #16 in a series of 20 hikes that cover the entire 80 miles of trail in Forest Park. Because not all of the trails can be done as an independent loop it will require hiking more than 115 miles to complete the entire challenge. If you miss a hike, don't worry. We will continue to cycle through the entire set of hikes and makeup hikes are available upon request.
This is a beginner friendly hike so nobody will be left behind! My pace is slow but steady. For some it is too slow, but I do try to push myself as best I can. These won't be easy hikes.
My hikes are cannabis friendly. Wrong turns are part of the adventure.
Dogs are welcome.
