🥾Forest Park🌲All Trails Challenge - 2024🐇
📜 Oh me oh my, it’s once again time to head up Northwest BPA Road!
This awfully wonderful trail will quickly ascend about 1k feet until it meets up with Firelane 13. This is truly a magical hike, it’s very common to see large birds of prey using the thermal vents here to soar far above as we are hiking. It’s also a great place to find thimble, and black berry in the summer. We will definitely earn it today. This one has even been added to, so let’s see how this new horse sized pill of a hike goes down!
This is the penultimate hike in a series of 13 hikes that cover the entire 80+ miles of trails in Forest Park. Because not all of the trails can be done as independent loops (and we will be doubling over our path at times) it will require hiking more than 120 miles to complete the entire challenge. If you miss a hike, no worries, we have this series twice a year and makeup hikes can be arranged.
💪🏽 This is NOT a beginner friendly hike, as we will be keeping a decent pace of an average of 2.7mph (or greater!) throughout, could be slightly faster/slower depending on groups’ abilities. I try to go as fast as the slowest person will allow me. These are not good hikes to learn what your pace is.
This can be difficult for some that have sedentary lifestyles, so please don’t be discouraged if at first you don’t succeed, just try try try again.
🚗🚙 Since this is in town, I will not be carpooling myself, but if you wish to do so please organize that on your own in the Event Comments section.
For those who want to carpool, just know that you should be prepared to drive or take public transit.
🅿️ There are no fees at this location, though space is limited. The address given is for location purposes only.
Driving Northbound on Hwy 30, you will pass by NW Marina Way on your Righthand side. Shortly thereafter the Hwy veers Left and on your Righthand side is a gravel shoulder that can accommodate many vehicles if everyone parks askew. OR you can brave it and park directly at the Trailhead gate just off of Hwy 30, but I do not enjoy parking there for fear of getting struck be traffic.
