🥾Forest Park🌲All Trails Challenge - 2026 - Beginner Friendly Version🐢

Please read, updates made.

Description📜
EVALUATION HIKE - For those wondering if you have what it takes to join us for the ‘Forest Park All Trails Challenge, Beginner Friendly Fridays,’ I invite you to come along on this hike to gauge your abilities and figure if this is the right fit for you. For those that find the hike a little too difficult I recommend trying other hikes we have that are beginner friendly to work your ability up to joining us here on the series!

Since we will not technically be hiking in Forest Park (we WILL be doing a Grand Tour of Washington Park!) except for the brief periods we are on or crossing over the Wildwood Trail, this won’t technically be in Forest Park. Still, I think it’s a really great way to kick off this seasons Forest Park All Trails Challenge!

This hike will be approximately 6mi in length. I usually play it by ear and base the length, speed and difficulty by a number of factors. I will do my best to simulate what one can expect from the rest of the series if they so choose to participate.

Difficulty💪🏽
This IS somewhat a beginner friendly hike, as we will be keeping a pace of an average of 2-2.5mph throughout, could be slightly faster/slower depending on groups’ abilities. I try to go as fast as the slowest person will allow me. This can be difficult for some that have sedentary lifestyles, so please don’t be discouraged if at first you don’t succeed, just try try try again.

Carpooling/Driving🚗🚙
Since this is in town, I will not be carpooling myself, but if you wish to do so please organize that on your own in the Event Chat/Comments section.
For those who want to carpool, just know that you should be prepared to drive or take public transit.

Parking/Fees🅿️
There are parking meters in multiple areas of Washington Park, you won’t need to pay for parking at our meetup spot unless you park elsewhere. The free parking is “near” the Hoyt Arboretum on SW Fairview Blvd.
