Come join us on a hike from the new Sharon Nesbitt Heritage Park to, and through, Sandy River Delta Park, known by locals as 1000 Acres Dog Park. This park features open meadows, shaded trail, river access, a bridge over the Sandy River, and a bit of mud. We will be hiking some of the lesser used trails in the park so we will be avoiding a lot of other people and their dogs.
We will meet at the caboose located at Depot Park in Troutdale. There is free parking on Kibling Ave between 2nd Ave and the Columbia Hwy in downtown Troutdale. We will hike across the Sandy River on the I-84 pedestrian/bicycle path.
You do not have to bring a dog but you are certainly more than welcome to! You being comfortable around dogs you don't know is essential. Most of this hike is off leash except for the walk to and from the park.
Parking fee: none
My hikes are stoner and 420 friendly. No haters.
