Valentine’s weekend feels like a good excuse to appreciate Edinburgh.

Continuing that, join us for a relaxed, playful sketching walk through Edinburgh’s Old Town. This event combines short creative prompts with a Sketch & Swap activity, designed to get you drawing without pressure and enjoying the city in a new way.

We’ll make a few stops along the route for quick sketches (no long sitting sessions), using gentle prompts to spark ideas. One stop will include a Sketch & Swap, where you’ll pass your sketchbook or paper to someone else to continue your drawing — it’s collaborative, light-hearted, and great for breaking the ice.

This is not an art class and absolutely no drawing experience is needed. Stick figures, scribbles, and half-finished sketches are all very welcome. The focus is on curiosity, play, and spending a creative afternoon outdoors.

We’ll finish nearby with an optional café stop for anyone who’d like to chat and continue sketching.

Meeting point:
🕐 13:00 outside St Giles’ Cathedral (Royal Mile side)

What to bring:
• Sketchbook or loose paper
• Pen, pencil, or one favourite drawing tool
• Something to sit on (optional)
• Weather-appropriate layers

Whether you’re new to the group or a regular, come along and enjoy a creative wander through Edinburgh together.
