Edinburgh + Lothians Hiking and Nature Meetup

What better way to kick off Edinburgh + Lothians Hiking and Nature Meetup group than an evening at a true classic, in the heart of Edinburgh City Centre.

Visible from miles around, Arthurs Seat dominates the city landscape, one of Edinburgh's seven hills (can you name the other six?)

The game plan as it stands is to meet at the wee black hut at Holyrood Car Park, located next to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, for 6pm. From here we will follow the Red Route, which will take us up to the summit, offering spectacular views. It is a broadly circular route, bringing us back to the start point in approx 2 hours.

Please don't be put off if you feel your fitness levels aren't up the scratch. I'm by no means a sherpa. The pace will be easy going and we will take our time. It's all about enjoying the great outdoors :)

Stout footwear required as there are some rough sections, as well as a waterproof jacket (its Scotland after all!) and something to eat and drink.
