Welcome to the Edinburgh ASD Peer Group!
This is a brand new group, which I have decided to start as a result of existing ASD peer groups being fully subscribed.
I am registered with the Autism Initiatives Scotland No6 service, which I recommend, although its only available to those with an official ASD diagnosis. This group, on the other hand, is open to anyone who suspects they have autistic traits. This group is not affiliated with No6.
The initial goal is to find other people who feel in any way "on the edge" of mainstream societal groups. At first, I want to hold discussions about what this group should be, and it may then evolve or generate splinter groups (e.g. activity based, talk series etc, peer discussion).
We will start with some quick online chats just to begin recognising some faces and exchanging ideas, before hopefully arranging some in person meets.
This all depends on the group acquiring a reasonable number of members. The initial goal will be 30, before organising the first online meet.
